How Does It Work? Fire-Safe Chests & Files:

As the fire raises the room temperature, the molded polymer housings melt and "weld" together, completely sealing the interior.
Next, the double walls filled with Survivacast® shield the contents from the heat of the fire. Survivacast is an insulation that encapsulates water. As the water converts to gas in the heat of the fire, an endothermic reaction occurs which absorbs the heat.
Protected by the complete seal and the Survivacast insulation, the interior of the Fire-Safe chest or file remains safely under 350°F - well below the 450°F charring point of paper, during the fire duration noted.

Sentry Heavy Weight Additional Information:

Sentry products can be extremely heavy; as a result all are sent using a shipping method designed specifically for them. We offer basic Sentry delivery service free with purchase of a Sentry product. This service will deliver your product to a business location with a truck loading dock (must be height of a standard truck bed). With standard shipping the product will be rolled off the delivery truck and onto your loading dock where it will be left.

We do offer additional levels of service that you can purchase depending on your needs. Please assess your situation carefully when you select additional shipping services. If the shipper arrives at your location and you have not paid for the services you require, your product will not be delivered. You will need to pay for the additional services before your product will be delivered. If you refuse to take delivery (or do not pay for the services you need in order to take delivery) your order will be processed as a return so any applicable return fees will apply.

If you need the shipper to move the product into your building, up any flights of stairs or up an elevator please be sure that you purchase these services. Please also make sure that the building structure (elevators, stairs, etc...) can handle the weight of the product you are purchasing.

One other important thing to remember about purchasing a Sentry product is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the product has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.
